Plant City Strawberry Festival
Now in its 80th year, The Plant City Strawberry Festival in Plant City, Florida boasts it’s the largest in the world. It was started in 1930 by the local Lions Club, after several attempts by locals in the previous 20 years to promote the local strawberry crop.
The festival lasts 11 days and generates an attendance of about half a million patrons from all over Central Florida and beyond.
It is huge and has a little bit of everything part county fair, part music festival, part carnival – with strawberries, country music, pig races, amusement rides, foods on a stick, homemade preserves and foods, and hand-made goods.

I had some delicious home-made cherry soda in a tin cup; in North Carolina, it’s called Cheerwine!
I really enjoyed Pioneer row seeing the woodworkers and blacksmith!
I was unsure if I would be able to find parking but with some guidance, I was able to pull the RV and Mini in behind a CVS into a large field and position it so I could pull straight out onto the road when I left.
