Jonathan Biller & Glass Blowing In Spruce Pine, NC

Jonathan Biller – Glass Blowing
Driving into Spruce Pine, NC, in the mountains, I passed a sign on a street corner about a glass studio tour. So I ducked into the Purple Cat Glass studio in a garage next to the owner’s, Jonathan Biller’s, home. He gave me a quick tour of his glass blowing studio. He had a great assortment of hand blown Christmas ornaments and little glass rounds.
Drop in and see the studio if you are in the area then you can go into downtown Spruce Pine to grab a bite to eat at the Knife and Fork. Spruce Pine is 4 square miles and in the 2010 census had a population of 2,175. It reminds me of Mayberry and the Andy Griffith show.
If you are doing any leaf peeping in October there is a Heritage Festival on the 10th that would be a nice stop off the Blue Ridge Parkway.
