Brooks’ Sandwich House & Chili has been open for over 40 years located in the heart of NoDa (an area of Charlotte, NC).
I visited on Veteran’s day and boy was it busy!
Brooks’ is the kind of place that you know has to be good because of all the law enforcement, firefighters, city workers and truckers that visit often.
Brooks’ is only open on weekdays for breakfast and lunch 7AM – 3PM.
Warning, stop by the ATM on your way; Brooks’ is cash only.
The Brooks brothers opened the establishment in 1973 and they were both there on my visit.
The building is just a small cement block structure.
Inside, there is a small order counter with standing room only to pick-up your order.
You can eat your food on a wooden table behind the building, or you can eat in/on the hood of your car, or take it to go.
Their chili and coleslaw is homemade and tops the burgers and dogs.
I ordered the cheeseburger with chili and slaw; it did not disappoint!
