Join me on my ultimate Quest as the 1st solo female to see 443 areas of the National Park System managed by the National Park Service and Bureau of Land Management in one continuous trip!
Come along I’ll be your personal guide to the parks! I’ll show you the best places to camp, hike, and photograph.
The US National Landscape Conservation System (also known as National Conservation Lands) is a collection of over 870 protected areas. National Park Service (NPS), Bureau of Land Management (BLM), the US Forest Service (USFS), and the US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS).
The National Park Service is celebrating its centennial anniversary. It has grown from 37 protected areas to 416.
They range from the preserves to seashores, battlegrounds to Native American archaeological sites, rivers to trailheads, monuments to historical sites.
The NPS is working to protect our nation’s historical and natural treasures for the next 100 years.
My quest is to see all of the NPS stops and all the BLM Monuments. This breaks down to 27 BLM Monuments plus the 416 stops managed by the NPS for a total of 443 stops. Note – this number may change as areas are added or (hopefully not) removed from protection.
